Humbled to have a new piece in the group show “Pink” at Fresh Mochi on Beacon Hill, curated by Elizabeth Jameson. March 19 – April 15, 2022.
“Release” (2022) is a slow motion video loop with original soundtrack (2:36) integrated into an altered 1995 Radio Shack portable TV with Raspberry Pi display. 7″ x 6″ x 6.5″ It was fun gutting and transforming the TV, and painting the chassis “Bazooka Joe” pink.
Thoughts about the video:
Observing an isolated moment, closely over time, perceptions and interpretations wander. Context is lost, making room for visual metaphors, juxtapositions of meaning. The mind flows and new context is created. Wetness, viscosity, salinity, flesh, the physics of liquid.
A visual analog to semantic saturation.
